Anyways, we happened to get a little late start today and when we dropped our aris off at the hostel we were informed that we couldn't have arrived on a better day. Today is Okayama's matsuri.
So as juan and i were meandering thru the gardens (about 5 pm) we noticed a stage and chairs set up for a special viewing of the celebrations.
Currently, we are sitting at a table drinking beer. We are sitting in the famed gardens, which are all lit up by lanterns and in front of us is the black castle of Okayama. We couldn't have any better view than if we had actually planned it. The beer vendor is to our left and taiko drums are starting to play. It is amazing! We wish you were all here. I will put up pictures as soon as i can. Matta ne!
UPDATE; Ok. here's the pictures
