Small furry animal vs L'EPO!
So last night I went to Shimodate to visit the girls. As I was driving home I almost died!
First of all let me indroduce my car. The Suzuki L'Epo: le sensation naturale. It sounds like the name for a condom! I have no idea what it means, but the car gets me from A to B and back to A again. It is smaller than a compact. It is a clown car. It is a go-cart with a back seat and a roof! I think the hamsters under the hood need to be roatated soon. It smells like old socks, but it gets several high quality japanese radio stations and the american armed forces radio network. It is not a total POS, but it is not to far from it either. The large dent on the side was there when I recieved the car, but I think it adds a little... je ne sais quoi.
OK, back to me almost dying. It is 10:40pm. It is dark. It is not raining anymore, but the roads are still a little wet. I am driving slightly above the speed limit, which in Japan is just a speed suggestion. Ahead I see a person run into the road, I slow down. As I am slowing down a friggin' furry creature darts out into the road and I hit it! I mean like 10 bonus points hitting it! I think it gets stuck under the car, because my "l'epo" starts shaking irradicaly (I am sill trying to slow down). The next thing I know, my brakes lock up and I am spinning. I did a 450! It was INSANE. So here I am spinning out of control on the smallest little back woods highway ever in my tiny car and I am alive.
Once my heart starts beating again, I get control over myself, turn the car around 270 degrees and start driving home. The person that ran into the road is walking inside the same builing it ran out of (bastard). When I get home I am afraid to look at the front of my car. I just know there is going to be fur and blood on my bumper. So I go inside and go to bed. People need to keep better track of their pets.
It's been 5 days, and I still refuse to look at the front of my car!
