Leah is a new Teacher from Canada working for Tressa's company. Last week we had a girls day out at the local mall (and by local I mean that I had to drive over an hour to get there). We finally saw X-Men 3 (yes... I am fully aware that it is probably on video in America by now), and had a great day shopping and mid-mall snacking. Since Leah is new to Japan... I thought I should introduce her to the grand Japanese art form of photo booths. Picture/Sticker booths are found almost anywhere. Arcades, bowling alleys, Karaoke joints, even a 100 Yen Shop.
Since the majority of sticker/picture making devices are used by women of all ages... this establishment had a special room full of the latest in "Photo Booth Technology" reserved just for chicks. I have seen booths like this in America, but Japan is the Ranking Queen of this artistic movement.
So... ya take some pictures... then you proceed to run to the outside booth to incorporate backgrounds, words, themes, and props into you photos. Since everything is in Japanese, it usually takes a few times to understand how the majority of these contraptions work. But in the end you have some silly sicker pictures to put on your phone, notebook, pencil case or refrigerator. Very Japanese Good Times!!!

I have just been informed by my students that these photobooths are called "PU-RI-KU-RA", which translates out to "Print Club".
