Yesterday Tressa, Juan and I drove up to Kanugawa in Tochigi Prefecture. Kanugawa is about 30 minutes from Nikko and is famous for its beautiful mountain scenery (especially in the autumn) and its vast amounts of ryokans and onzens. However we did not travel to Kinugawa to get all naked and sit in a hot bath... we traveled to the area to see a little place known as Tobu World Square.
Everything is painstakingly hand crafted to 1/25 its original scale. From Tokyo Tower to Big Ben, this small trip around the world took us about 3 hours. Unfortunately, since it was winter, the foreigner restaurants were closed so after seeing the sights we headed into Utsunomia for a Subway sandwich before heading home. Thanks go out to Dave and Anna for informing us of the wonders of Tobu World Square and for miss Tressa Lynn for the pleasurable company and the use of her car. Smooches!!!
