The end of Summer

It's the last Sunday of Summer and Misa invited us out to a rooftop tex/mex beer garden in Shinjuku, but when we got there it was closed due to the impending typhoon that was expected to hit that evening. Being that we were in Shinjuku and that there are about a 1,000 restaurants and bars nearby, we ventured out into the night to find something to eat and drink. We started out at the Hub for happy hour drinks and snacks.
After that, Misa took us to Kushiyaki. This was a first time for both Juan and I. You sit at a bar, tell the cook everything you don't like to eat. Then the cook proceeds to fry up and set down sticks of food for you with a variety of dipping sauce until you say stop. When you are full, you tell the guy to stop, he counts up your sticks and you pay your bill. It was 170Yen per stick and our total bill was about $23 dollars per person for 2 drinks and and 9 sticks of food. This place was so much fun!!. Misa said this is Tokyo style Kushiyaki, I guess in Hiroshima you fry up your own food, but Juan and I always think it's crazy to pay to cook your own food. You can do that at home for free.
After kushiyaki, Naoko met up with us and we proceeded to walk through the now raining Shinjuku night to another bar. We ended up at this cute place that had had a Dr. Fish tank in the entryway. Here we sat and ate until it was time to head off home. Thank you girls for another wonderful night on the town.
