During the first week of August I was sent camping near Morioka. Morioka is in Tohoku, north of Sendai. Now, my camera is on the fritz so I didn't get any pictures of my little elementary students or the facilities we were in at the base of Mt.Iwate. By the way, sleeping in a building bigger that my high school is not what I would consider "camping".
Regardless, I was thinking of staying in Morioka for the afternoon to see Morioka's famed festival. But lucky me... there were dancers preforming just outside the station. I think their costumes are so interesting. I have never seen these flower/tomato? hats before. Enjoy pictures from the old i-phone.
