My tea kicks your teas butt!!

It's Tuesday. It's raining. I am wearing a black cardigan, striped colored shirt, black slacks and white tennis shoes (even after a year and a half this still looks ridiculous to me). I am currently sitting at my desk and enjoying a cup of o-cha (green tea). Now, I know that there are those of you who drink green tea on a daily basis. You've undoubtedly read in Cosmo or the Times all the benefits that befalls one who drinks green tea every day. So what did you do? You went down to the grocery store, or nearest Starbucks and purchased a box of bagged green tea. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING??? Maybe you were misinformed, maybe you are ignorant to the strengh of "real" tea. Whatever the reason... I am going to let know know how green tea is supposed top be drank.

When one even considers drinking green tea on a regular basis, be it for heath reasons or just because you enjoy the taste... you must start with the leaf itself. Anything that comes in a bag is not acceptable. These are just the dregs of a true tea. When I purchased a cup of green tea in the states this past summer I was astonished at the color of the tea. If the tea is not green before you add hot water... it's no good. It's called "Green" Tea for a reason!!!!

And brewing.... This is how one brews a true cup of green tea. Scoop loose tea into a teapot with a built in strainer. Pour in some hot water. Replace lid on teapot (some people choose to then swish the water for approximately 2-3 seconds) then pour out delicious beverage into your favorite cup. That's it. The brew time is almost instantaneous. You shouldn't have to dunk your tea bag 108 times to achieve a light green hue of water(consequently, the Japanese believe there are 108 different sins).

I 'm sorry to cut this post short, but I actually have work to do. So please... for the benefit of your heath and of your taste buds... spend the extra couple bucks and buy fresh, loose tea. You'll thank yourself for it in the end. Ja Ne!!!
